Why is a low GI encouraged for weight loss and diabetes?

Foods that have a low GI help to keep sugar levels steady. This is very important for those that are diabetic, have insulin resistance, and most people with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. People with these conditions have trouble either producing enough insulin or the insulin they do produce is not being utilised well. Insulin is the hormone that removes sugar from the bloodstream so by having the sugars released slowly it allows the body to be more efficient.

Having a low GI also helps control cravings, so that’s an added reason to follow this format for losing weight!

The fact is, sugar in itself is not bad for you. It’s the amount and quality of the sugar that is the issue. Rapid Loss has protein and fibre (which makes up some of the carbohydrate content) and this slows down the release of sugar into the bloodstream (ie, Low GI). Not only that, the combination of high fibre along with protein also makes you fuller so you don’t feel like eating as much.
All doctors and researchers agree that the best thing you can do for your health is to reduce your weight to a healthy level, and modify your diet to include more fresh fruit and vegetables. That’s exactly what the Rapid Loss Program does!

Should I take Rapid Loss as a meal replacement or as a snack between my meals?

You will lose more weight, and faster, if you replace meals. However, if you follow the meal plans outlined and just replace snacks you’ll have a greater chance at sticking with the program. It really depends on you. If you feel that you won’t have any problem going without a couple of meals each day then go ahead.

If you have the shake as a snack between your main meals (i.e. between breakfast and lunch) it is recommended that you mix your shakes with water, and stick to the healthy meal choices in the Rapid Loss booklet.

How do I have the shakes?

OPTION 1: Snack Replacement: (Mix the shake with water)

This option is recommended when starting the program as you are only replacing 2 snacks with the shakes- morning and afternoon tea. By doing this you will have less chance of feeling hungry. This means that you eat the breakfast, lunch and dinner meals provided in the booklet, and just incorporate the shakes as your snack between them. If you decide to have the shakes as a snack between your meals it is very important that you stick to the meal plan to promote fast weight loss.

OPTION 2: Meal Replacement: (Mix the shake with skim milk)

This option allows you to choose which 2 meals per day you would like to replace. We do not recommend you replace more than 2 meals a day.

Choose which meal you would like to eat, (either) breakfast, lunch or dinner, and replace the other two meals with a shake.

Choose one of the following at each of the 2 snack times:
• Apple
• Banana
• Orange
• 1 boiled egg
• A 95g can of spring water tuna (you can squeeze lemon on top)
Is Rapid Loss sustainable long term?

It is often said that shake diets are not sustainable and to be honest our team initially had the same opinion and this is how Rapid Loss came about. We went through the research and designed this scientifically based format that ensures long-term weight loss success.

Research shows that for a meal replacement shake program to be successful long term it not only must taste good and be affordable, but there must also be education and support. Rapid Loss provides education through the free booklet. We also provide free support in the form of email, phone and online via our Social Media Accounts.

In addition, Rapid Loss is different from other products in that you have the option to have the shakes as a meal replacement or as a snack. By having the shake as a snack you still get to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner so you’re still getting to eat real food.

The other important factor is that we teach you how to go from having the 2 shakes per day, to simply eating fresh foods. We do this by progressing you through a simple 4-stage Program.

How many calories do the Rapid Loss Shakes contain?

If you mix the Rapid Loss shake with 200ml water then it will roughly equate to 152 calories per serving. (It may vary slightly by a couple of calories depending on the flavour)

If you have the Rapid Loss shake as a meal replacement and mix it with 200ml skim milk then it will equate to 222 calories per serving

Can I eat Fruit while using Rapid Loss?

If you’re having the shakes as a snack between your meals then you don’t need to be having fruit.

You only add the fruit (An apple, banana or orange) if you are having the shakes as a meal replacement. Fruit is considered a snack and if you’re having the shakes as a snack then you will just be adding calories if you have fruit as well. Just remember, although fruit is healthy you can still eat too much of it and this will limit your weight loss results.

If you are replacing meals then you can have (either) an apple, banana or orange as your snack between your meals. The main reason these fruits are chosen is because they are high in fibre, and comes in a good portion size already. This is important, as we want you to feel full without the need to overeat.

Emulsifier 471 – is the source animal or plant derived?

The emulsifier 471 is soy derived.

What ingredients in the Rapid Loss Shakes are animal-derived?

The skim milk powder, milk protein in the beverage whitener, whey protein concentrates and calcium caseinate are all animal derived.

Can I drink Tea or Coffee in Stage 1?

You can have 2 cups of coffee per day, but no Lattes, Cappuccinos, or Flat Whites. Simply a cup of black coffee with a splash of milk. In addition, you can have 6 cups of tea as well. You cannot have artificial sweetener (or natural sweeteners) as they have been shown to increase cravings!

What about Other beverages?

Alcohol – Not many people know this but Alcohol is quite dense in calories, which is about 7 calories per gram compared to carbohydrates and protein, which is about 4 calories per gram.

If you’re on stage 4 and incorporating drinks to your diet just make sure you count these in your daily intake. If you’re on stage 1-3 you definitely shouldn’t be drinking!

Sports drinks, soft drinks, cordials and juices contain excessive amounts of calories. Diet soft drinks contain artificial sweetners; research shows that artificial sweeteners can increase the cravings for real sugar. When trying to lose weight cravings can be dangerous so you need to eliminate this stuff from your diet.

Herbal Teas are great, especially Green tea. Drink as many of that as you want but don’t add sugar of course!

How much water should I be drinking?

Try to drink 2-3 litres of water each day.
